This is mental man! I am wanting a similar shot actually, just need to suss out a location first. Parkes is a bit of a mission from Coffs, 750km one way!!! Maybe there is one closer for me...

is it possible to get such a shot with one singele exposure (bulb mode about 1 h) or is it common to overlay multiple single shot with expo time about 30 sec - 1 min???

Great star trail. :D I have to ask- Did you need permission to shoot this at night?? I'm often going past this and I was thinking about maybe trying something similar one day.

Cheers! Nope i just didn't go past any of the signs that stated "NO ENTRY" or "CSIRO ONLY" and stayed within the visitor/tourist area, which i assume is allowed at night?
