While the moon was yet to be hidden by clouds I stole its light and used it for some photos:D Got out my telephoto lens to bring those mountains a tad closer.

Using a Manfrotto 190B with 141RC head... try looking for decent 2nd hand stuff though, you'll save heaps $$$;)

i see :) i only got a canon 500D so for shots like these i'll guess i'll be needing a steady tripod. do you think a 500D body is stable enough for nature shots like this? i don't have the money to invest in a new lens so i have to stick with the 18-55 standard IS lens. any tips are most welcome mate :)

Yeah 500D is fine though you will get some heavier noise with the longer exposures compared to the higher end cameras. I suggest get some filters and learn how to take and stitch panoramas well, you'd be surprised at the results you'll get with your combo;)
