Got some new graduated ND filters(Hitech) so had to make the effort of getting up and trying them out:D Got up about 10mins too late so missed the peaking colours before sunrise!

Not sure which I prefer better but the light on the sand and water is really really well captured. Good idea with darkening the sky as well as it gives the photo a different feeling. Late but still on time ;-)

I try and always be on location 1hr before sunrise. That leaves about 15-30 min to shoot long exposures. Then the normal color starts about 30 min before actual sunrise. But we've all had to run out the door late for a sunrise before...damn early! (well more so for you...sunrise is only 6am here, ha)

Amazing lighting - this looks so great on the computer, but I bet it would have been phenomenal in real life. I like how all the elements lead to the horizon and also the gradation in the sky. :)

So where was this? Lovely texture in the sand. We went up to Diamond Head yesterday. Have you been there much for shoots? Around Kylie Tenents cabin??? Lots of Roo's and good scenery...
