About to call it a day after an unspectacular sunset, until a a glow of colour appeared on the horizon The rocks had an interesting coloured lichen over them... usually there is nudist all over them
Taken at Miners Beach, Port Macquarie, NSW Australia.
A stuning display of natrual beauty. An excellent shot. It illuminates perfect contrast of color and texture and demonstrates a wonderful fluidity. A job well done I must say. The lichen stands out very well against the rocks and the vibrancy of the colors is simply gorgeous. I feel as though the tide may literally pull me in and the clouds roll over me. The detail stuns me, down to the reflection of the rocks and the spray of the waves. Photography's true form has been used here, as this is a perfect, fraction on a moment in time, caught in a lens. Hats off to you.
Let me begin by saying that after browsing through *bleed-the-sky's gallery I have to say that 'Miners Twilight' while being an excellent capture is not the best work by this artist.
Having said that I encourage everyone reading this to give the artist gallery a view. You can see some amazing, inspirational work there. Okay, let's move on to actual critique.
I have to admit that this piece caught my eye. Bright, vibrant colors are very appealing and compliment each other well. The scenery is like nothing I have seen before. Actually this piece has you asking yourself if it was really taken on planet earth.
When it comes to the shot's impact Im sure this would make quite a few people stop and admire it, even during their busiest days. This is a kind of capture that makes you wander if you're spending your life right living it at a fast pace, while there is so much natural beauty to be seen, for absolutely free.
When it comes to technique the shot is almost perfect, the only thing that I find a little bit distracting is a brighter bit of the center rock. Im not going to wander why and how did it get there, but I feel it takes away a bit from the image's reception.
Other than that I don't feel that the scene was placed in the frame the best possible way. The sand on the bottom is not really that interesting to have it cover about 20-25% of the frame. I really feel that sometimes less is more and in this case, cropping it would do the image good.
That being said, I still feel this is a very beautiful, powerful capture. Thank you for sharing it with us and I wish you the best of luck on your next ones.
Nice one, Cain - and lol @ the nudists - only nudists we get down here on the south coast are spontaneous backpacker types who mistakenly think they have the beach to themselves!
