But in the mean time heres a shot taken basically next to that church... i was shooting towards the bridge to try capture the fog and all of a sudden this dark figure started to appear and get closer! Instead of running like hell i stood there and snapped this:D

I've always loved pictures like this. You get a misty road and have a person walking along it in the distance so that they're barely discernible. But there's something different, something fantastic and ethereal about this picture.

First of all, the considered norm is spiced up a bit since the person is riding a bike rather thank walking. But that is of little consequence ultimately. What really strikes the eye is the sublime presentation of this photograph. It's magical. Having the viewer set back in the shadows, looking out to this gradually lighter, then blinding world, gives a sense of innocence or rebirth. It's almost like you're looking out to the mysterious world for the first time and here along comes someone to greet you.

The composition itself is beautiful, from the soft vignetting around the edges to the sharpness that still allows for a presence of quiet softness. This picture seems to be in a place of its own . . . and it's surely awoken my senses. It's a storybook picture; words simply cannot do it justice.
