360 Degree Lighthouse by CainPascoe 360 Degree Lighthouse by CainPascoe
Thought i'd try something different, as i do:)

This is a 360° panorama made from 8 images(12mm), aligned and applied polar co-ordinates as follows here -> [link]

EDIT: Had to fix this up just didn't look right:D

This is definitely the best polar panorama ive seen so far. The tutorial you provided was pretty simple, however it didn't say what to do if one side of your image doesnt touch the other side when you wrap it around...im kind of stuck at that point, I don't know why my sides dont meet. I'd really appreciate it if you could help me out.. :]

Cool, glad you liked it enough to try it out:) Dunno why that has happened? did you leave some space on each side or maybe the the edges of the image/pano aren't parallel with each other and/or to the edge of the canvas? So its just like step 6 before you to the polar thing..

Yea mine looked exactly like step 6 before i polarized it and there was still a gap : / i made sure it was a 360 degree pano too...I dont know, I guess I just have to keep trying different things. Maybe it's because the panorama overlaps its self at a certain point in the picture? i figured that would be a good thing though rather than having the edges not match up at all. but it says to do a slight overlap in step one so i really have no clue lol

Maybe you know this already, but if you add manually the "nadir" for the small planets, it will help you make them look nice and round in the center ;)

Great ideas and perspectives both of them :flame:

I love these 360 shots!!! :worship: What do you use to stitch these type of shots together? I saw the link...but found it a bit confusing, looks like a lot of work.... beautiful Cain!

Thanks Aimee!;) I first stitched the images in CS3(using photomerge). Then made a canvas the same width as the pano ALSO making the height the same as the width.. place the pano(image) so the top edge touches the top of the canvas(you might have to flip the image upside down).. then filter>distort>;polar coordinates and choose the option that makes it look like a doughnut. And DONE!

Not quite, you have clone alot to fill in the blank space.. hope thats more straight forward:D

The most important part is that your image is a total 360 degrees and the edges roughly meet at either end:)
